The Big Lebowskis, formerly The Dunder Mifflin All Stars, arrived on the House Softball scene in 2007 posting a 19-3 record, a handful of law students and a soccer team of recent college grads now working on the Hill, all combining to take over from a now defunct Masses Asses team. By 2008 they were known throughout the league as the self-promoted trash talking upstarts, The Big Lebowskis, most of the trash talk done by one infamous left centerfielder. A 23-4 2008 record cemented their place as a quality team, but the team is still looking to move past the Sweet 16 in the end-of-season tournament.
The Big Lebowskis are led on the field by a man who goes as "The Jesus," his co-captain "Donny," and The Dude, a man of some fame and much infamy in the House league and D.C. bar scene. The real strength of the team though is their ladies, all outstanding players, highlighted by the Indiana Canon, the 3B who turns doubles down the line into throws from her knees that would make Benito Santiago proud.
2009 brings with it big hopes and more House league infamy, but the Big Lebowskis have much to prove to the House League critics and pundits, given their regular season success and lack to date of a deep run in the tourney. Will 2009 be their year?
